People, it’s the 21st Century! While we may not (yet) be driving flying cars and having robot kids, we need to up our Facebook ad game. Keeping up with the industry’s rapid evolution can be difficult. DigitalMarketer can help you keep up by showing you the best Facebook video ads for 2020.
Marketing is changing. Facebook is changing. Facebook marketing will also change. Video ads are becoming more popular. Video ads have replaced stills and carousels.
Why Advertise Videos
There is also the aesthetic factor and the engagement factor. Videos are visually appealing. Moving can be just as effective!
Videos are also more valuable than graphics. Why? Apple’s iOS 14 upgrade is one of the reasons why Facebook ads are likely to become less effective. Not to the point that they are obsolete, but just enough to encourage marketers to consider advertising on new platforms such as TikTok and Snapchat.
Creating a video allows you to adapt your Facebook ad to TikTok and Snapchat. A graphic may work well on Facebook but not on other platforms. You’ve put in the effort to create a great advertisement, so you might as well get some additional mileage from it!

Here are some of our favorite 2020 Facebook video advertisements, and briefly describe what makes them unique. Next year, maybe one of your videos will make our list!
The video ad tells the powerful story of a teacher who sacrifices her time for her community. It also connects that narrative with Nike’s brand. The entire ad is on brand for Nike with its bright colors, consistent logo, and strong history.
Progressive
We all love and know Flo as Progressive’s spokesperson/mascot. We also love this advertisement. The ad is concise and straight to the point while maintaining Progressive’s casual and fun atmosphere. This ad also has a clear call to action to get a quote and a button that allows you to do it below the video.
DigitalMarketer stresses the importance of keeping your content consistent with your brand. Target did an excellent job with this campaign. You can tell who the advertiser is by just looking at it.
This campaign was excellent, as they reused content concepts across multiple ads. We love the creative consistency!
These ads are still running today, so we know they worked!
Levi’s
The series of ads featured a 15-second video that showcased Levi’s efforts to promote sustainability. The ad combines sustainability information, daisies, and dancing with denim for a cohesive and memorable ad. This ad works because it’s short, snappy, and long enough to leave a lasting impression on viewers.
Levi’s offers a “moral” incentive for customers to click and buy by aligning with a charitable effort. This campaign was an excellent example of how to implement this strategy.
DigitalMarketer
We start with a flattering hook. The reader thinks, “Oh, they have to be talking to ME because I’m great at marketing!” and then continues reading. We seal the deal with a FREE trial of the DigitalMarketer Lab. The video aligns with our brand; it’s engaging and gives an excellent lab overview.
