As a marketing professional, I can attest to the power and importance of TikTok. The social media platform boasts over 1 billion active monthly users and is the world’s most downloaded app.
Furthermore, the video-based social app is top-rated among Gen-Z and millennials.
Although TikTok usage by marketers has increased 15% YoY, some marketers still haven’t figured out how to generate new leads using the platform.
As a marketer and social media enthusiast, I’ve used TikTok a lot. You can learn everything you need about TikTok’s lead generation. Why use TikTok to generate leads?
This allows mobile-first campaigns.
TikTok is a video-sharing app that focuses on short videos. However, users can view and upload videos for up to 10 minutes.
The platform is a great channel for mobile campaigns, as short-form video traffic will account for 80% in North America.
Subscribe to your favorite TikTok accounts and scroll through the videos on your phone for hours.
The mobile format is also relevant from a business perspective. TikTok is a mobile application that allows you to run your business from your smartphone.
This is great for brands that are targeting a young market.
According to YPulse, over 75% of Gen Zers are using TikTok, and almost two-thirds of them use it every day. Moreover, Gen Zers use the app to learn about products and make purchasing decisions.
A study found that 74% of Gen Z TikTok weekly users would want more information about the advertised product after watching a Dynamic Ad (a type of video advertisement on the platform).
In the last year, 46 percent of Gen Z TikTok Users purchased a product after seeing it on TikTok.
These facts are essential for any business owner who wants to target a younger market. Gen Z is the largest market in the future.
Bloomberg reports that the younger generation has already surpassed $143 billion in purchasing power four years ago.
This allows your brand to create authentic content.
Authenticity is important, especially for Gen Z. In a study conducted recently, 92% of Gen Zers said that being genuine and authentic to themselves is very important.
Keep things real to make buyers believe that your company does more than sell products.
It can be challenging to do this, but starting with storytelling is an excellent place to begin. By focusing on storytelling, you can show that your business is more than just money. It also highlights the human side of things.
What’s the nutshell of it? Authentic brands bring in quality leads. TikTok is a platform that’s a great place for building original brands, especially when you have influential content creators.

Let’s now explore five different ways you can generate leads using TikTok.
Create a profile that is both eye-catching and trustworthy.
Use your unique logo as the photo of your TikTok account to show off your brand and stand out amongst all the other accounts. Use your unique brand logo as your TikTok photo.
Create a logo or use an image or video that is relevant and aesthetically pleasing if you do not have one.
You can use video for your TikTok profile picture.
Create a compelling and short bio to tell viewers about your business. When I write my TikTok Bios, I consider it the world’s fastest and most punchy elevator pitch.
You can also add some humor. As an example, the language learning Duolingo bio is:
Free language education for all. “Just an owl trying to vibe.”
The account’s bio reflects Duolingo’s mission, as well as the playful and humorous energy of its videos.
Links are important for your profile, as they drive traffic to your products and services or your website. Include a link that is relevant to your bio.
Verification on TikTok is also a good idea. The TikTok badge of verification confirms your account as the official account for your company and not a parody, scam, or fan account.

Create engaging and valuable content that inspires action.
Consider your buyer persona before creating a TikTok video. Who is your audience? What content are they interested in? How can you demonstrate value to your target audience on TikTok?
These questions will help you determine the tone, style, and content of your video. Consider where your target audience is on their buyer’s journey.
Do you want to attract leads who are interested in learning more about your company or those who are already ready to buy?
You should also create content that encourages your audience to take action, for example:
TikTok allows you to embed product hyperlinks into your videos. Take advantage of this feature to generate leads straight from your videos.
The use of relevant hashtags is another element I have found useful. TikTok lets users add hashtags to their videos and shows how many people have seen them.
Look at the tags that have received the most views when uploading your content and include them in the caption. Keep an eye out for trending topics or challenges and find ways to include them in your content.
TikTok Ads:
The most effective strategy is to use TikTok ads, especially TikTok lead generation ads. It’s right there in the name.
TikTok Ads for Lead Generation are a specific type of advertising that the platform provides to help you cultivate leads and gather lead information.
These ads include a CTA (call to action) button.
When users click the button, they will be able to access an instant form that provides additional information about your company and gives you the contact details and interest of the users in your product or services.
You can direct users directly to your website or their contact information by using ads.
TikTok doesn’t just offer Lead Generation Ads. There are several other options available to marketers on the platform for building leads and recognition. Click here to learn more about the types of ads and whether they are worth investing in.
